Kevin’s Blog: A Day Late & A Dollar Short Review of #iMPACTWrestling

I’m doing this blog because I’m pissed about the Penguins booting a second consecutive game. I’m hoping they can return the favor in Philly. Sunday is huge. No excuses here. Philly played better after giving up the initial goals early in both games. You should win any game you score five goals in. Oh well, it’s sports. Once you’ve gone thru real bull shit, this doesn’t look as important. I’m still pretty pissed though. Why else would I be carping?

Fry The Delivery Guy is going to be doing us a solid. He’s going to Lockdown and he’s going to help us bring some extra content. Probably in the verbal variety but we’ve got to work out the details. Let’s roll.

This crowd is awesome. A “We Don’t Care” chant. We don’t care about this guys. Eric Bischoff introduces his team. I don’t care. Garrett Bischoff only announces Mr. Anderson who is going to take on Gunner. We got a commercial. I forgot that the best of three series gets the first in privileges. They tease Garrett’s other team members. Boy, I don’t know, maybe it’ll be the people who are feuding with Eric’s team members? Wow, what a stupid baby face. Anderson gets himself DQed. The crowd evens out chants by chanting “Anderson”. Dummies.

Eric Young is talking to himself. Joseph Park introduces himself. The camera guy gets cute and shows a shot in the mirror. For some reason Park is grilling EY about Abyss. He seemed to give up the second he asked a question to everyone else. Chris Sabin learned about the size of his heart. Alex Shelley gets to run down some facts. I like them going for the titles but it seems a little forced for this PPV. TNA’s problem is the same as WWE’s. No tag team depth. Brutus comes out and challenges them. Joe gets to act tough. Joe can’t be watching WWE these days. Mexican America comes out. That isn’t depth. I’d take the Usos any day of the week. Each of the real tag teams gets to bitch an MA member.

Christopher Daniels in out against, hmmm, maybe AJ Styles? Austin Aries. I guess they’ll save AJ for Kazarian. AA has a beef with Ray so he fits the profile. AA doing the People’s Elbow is what I feared when he turned face. Just stick with the tilt a whirl elbow. Brain buster, AA wins. You could tell they’ve wrestled before. Good work.

Jeff Hardy comes out for a promo while the cage is set up for EY & ODB’s wedding. Interesting setting. I dig Hardy’s style more when he’s not in his ring get up. I can’t do a watch that big. Short & sweet. James Storm and his country friends are pissed. Eric Young gets hit on by Sarita & Rosita. EY turns them down. That’d be hard to turn down. Smart though. Pretty transparent move on their part.

Why am I watching EY walk to the ring? Does he not have a best man? I kind of dig ODB‘s dress. Appropriately non-traditional for her. Now we get a video. So glad they are keeping this off the PPV. EY said his own vows. ODB has her own. Sarita & Rosita come out to object. For some reason, de-robing means your a good tag team. ODB strips down to her skivvies. EY resists temptation. EY’s cummerbund matches his trunks. They make the official strip down. That was entirely too long. Could have been worse. Ric Flair gives Bully Ray a pep talk.

Bobby Roode still has his security team. I want to tighten their ties. Bully Ray gets AJ Styles as his opponent. I want to take the gloves off of AJ and slap him with them. No big surprise that the temas fight at ring side with them all down there. AJ gets a near fall with a Pele Kick. Bully Ray punches him with a chain to win. Come on, the heels almost always win. Hulk Hogan adds a fifth man to each team. Well, they can choose. I thought that four was an odd number. I know it’s an even number. But I expected five.

Eric Bischoff wants to be the fifth man because he expects it to be Hogan.  RVD comes back to mild appaluse. Bobby Roode gets the video package. James Storm is going to make the bull shit stop at Lock Down. They NEED to have him win.

Gail Kim & Madison Rayne are taking on Mickie James & Velvet Sky. Micke & Madison start the match. Velvet pins Gail Kim. Even Steven booking says that Gail Kim wins on Sunday. I’m in the James Storm boat with her too, put the belt on Velvet. She didn’t get a real first run for a crowning moment.

I did FF thru the entrances. James Storm kicks off the talks. He wants to just talk, like they used to. Bobby Roode is making solid points even if they high light Roode’s short cutting. Roode said they were never friends. Roode is delivering here. Storm coming back with the good old boy routine. It suits him. Good sell for the PPV. -Kevin
