The Art Of Wrestling – #WWE Halloween Costumes

From WWE.com

Even though I have generally lost interest in mocking TNA or WWE’s lines of clothing since they are more consumed by throwing out a Steve Austin level number of t shirts but without the quality. I had to take a look though because of Halloween tomorrow. I was awarded almost immediately as I went to WWE.com which had a link to costumes at Party City. They have three options if you want to go to a Halloween party as a wrestler, Randy Orton, CM Punk and John Cena.

I went to Randy Orton‘s first since it was furthest left. I was entertained by the fact that they got his tattoos somewhat correct. No matter how hard Orton has tried to hide his awful, old tribal tattoos, they are still very prominent under his cover up work. Tattoo Nightmares (Another lost link so go to her site) did a much better job on Ivelisse than who ever worked on his tattoos.  The other thing that I noticed about the body suit is the WWE Title Belt is not proportional to his body. It shouldn’t be hard to size up that belt.

I posted the picture of CM Punk because he has the opposite situation with tattoos, they aren’t even close to similar. As you can see, his stomach clearly says “Straight Edge” while the body suit says “CM Punk.” There isn’t a trade mark on straight edge so it should be on there. No costume needs the person’s name on it. Second off, the skull is on his right pec but on the body suit it’s on the left. It stands out even more that the real tattoo is spewing the wave across the bottom of his chest while the dumb one on the suit is grinning like the Cheshire Cat. The last problem to be noted with the chest tattoos is the lack for color in the real one and the copious amount of colors in the fake one. Though Punk’s arms do have color in them, they are still much less vivid than that of the body suit. I’m not sure why the WWE would allow this one to come out seeing as though he quit the company at the beginning of the year. Party City didn’t start manufacturing these terrible body suits last year. On a very positive minor note, at least they didn’t give him the WWE World Heavyweight Championship since he never won that particular title.

The main amusement of the John Cena body suit is that like the other ones, it’s priced at $49.99. If you want to buy the items separately on WWEShop.com, you can buy the hat for $19.99 and the wrist band package for $11.99. I’ve got no idea why the WWE doesn’t sell John Cena jorts. It seems like a perfect avenue to generate more money for your top cash cow. You can buy jorts on Ebay if you are the correct size for as cheap as cheap as .99 cents. Or you could do as Complex.com suggests and make your own jorts. I know everyone has an old pair of jeans they could hack apart or you could hit the nearest  Salavation Army or equivalent recycled clothing shop. The point I’m getting at though is you could buy this costume for less than a body suit. If you want to dress like grown man wearing jorts which will be funny to no one else at your Halloween. – Kevin
