William Regal came out to start off the show. Regal tells us the main event will be a Diva’s Battle Royal to determine who is the number one contender to Bayley. He then introduces Sami Zayn. He talks about how great it is to be back. Zayn says his goal is to be the first two time NXT Champion. Samoa Joe comes out and tells Zayn that he doesn’t deserve another title shot. Samoa Joe tells him to leave. Baron Corbin agrees with Joe about Zayn not deserving a chance. He tells both of them to get to the back of line. Corbin tries to attack Zayn but fails. Zayn kicks him out of the ring.

Bayley only survived against Nia Jax at Takeover. She wishes that she could be in the battle royal but she will await the winner.

NXT has awards that make more sense than anything involved with the Slammies but I’m going to remember them just as much.

Tomasso Ciampa is taking on Danny Burch. I really liked Ciampa’s version of a Downward Spiral meets Orton Hanging DDT. Burch got in some shots but Ciampa got in even more. Ciampa reversed a back slide into a bridging arm bar for the tap out win. I’m glad they’ve held on to him. I enjoyed his work in ROH.

Enzo Amore and Big Cass are offended that Dash & Dawson are the champions. Enzo figured out that they had no back bone because they hid behind Carmella in their championship match. Cass tells them business will be finished after they meet them next.

They give a few of the Divas air time, ending with Emma.

William Regal makes a triple threat match between Sami Zayn, Samoa Joe and Baron Corbin in two weeks for the number one contender for the NXT Title.

I thought I watched NXT Takeover: London. I either forgot that Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson beat Enzo & Cass or I didn’t watch. Ha. I’m getting too old. The Ascension are their opponents. Victor took the beating. Connor got the hot tag. Connor fights out of a bear hug but bumps Dawson into Wilder. They end up giving him their flap jack / Code Breaker combo for the win.

Nia Jax can’t get medical clearance so she can’t be in the battle royal tonight. Eva Marie will win this for them. More Divas get promo time, ending with Alexa Bliss.

Elias Samson comes to the ring. Corey Hollis is his almost faceless opponent. Samson is taking his time attacking Hollis and both of the announcers question why. Swinging Neck Break for the win. Weak finisher for a strong guy.

Finn Balor is just going to wait for the challenger to emerge. He gives props to Corbin, Zayn and Joe. Balor says that no matter who wins, he’ll continue to be the NXT champion. The rest of the Divas get some mic time, ending with Asuka.

The Divas Battle Royal was next. I was surprised that the final three were two almost no names in Peyton Royce and Billie Kay who teamed against Asuka. She double eliminates them. Eva Marie was in waiting so it wasn’t really the final three. She dumps out a celebrating Asuka. Carmella is pulling the same stunt and dumps Eva Marie for the win. – Kevin
