Stunt Granny Audio Movie Review: Iron Man 3

Iron-Man-3Jeremy and Kevin return after a few weeks of worthless movies and talk all things Iron Man 3. Who liked it? Who didn’t? Did Iron Man 3 break the string of third act failures for superhero movies? How do they manage to make Gwyneth Paltrow attractive in these flicks? No really; she is smoking in the Iron Man franchise. Who had a problem with the blatant plot holes and lack of logic? Was it enough to drag the movie down or was it acceptable in a turn your brain off sort of way? How many individual toys was the final battle supposed to sell? If you are going to make your audience sit through the previews shouldn’t you make them interesting at least? Why the hell are there fifteen minutes of previews in front of a two and a half hour movie? Did any of them sway our reviewers? Did it matter if you saw it in Imax or standard film versions? All of these will be answered and then some so get to listening.

Stunt Granny Sports Show #8

This has nothing to do with anything other than being awesome.

This has nothing to do with anything other than being awesome.

All right everyone are you ready for another edition of Stunt Granny Sports Show? Wait, where you going? Seriously stay here and listen. Eric2 and Jeremy are back again in continue their conversation from last week o gay and lesbian athletes in professional American sports. How convenient was it that Jason Collins came out a ere three days after Stunt Granny Sports Show #7 was posted? Was this part of a coup for Stunt Granny? Nope; it was mere coincidence. Anyway, the fellas talk about Jason Collins and his decision to open up about his sexuality. How does his former fiancee feel about this?  Now that he is out will he find it harder to find a job? Does his status as an “end of the bench player” hurt his job opportunities? Will anyone remember him once the next NBA season free agency period begins? How did Metta World Peace get in on the action?  Then here is Geno Smith? Is this guy really as bad as you are led to believe ? Is this just another poor decision by The New York Jets? Why does there seem to always be the on “it”person that receives mountains of scrutiny? Is it justified? Should we be thanking Geno Smith for ridding the airwaves of Tim Tebow talk? Kobe Bryant is kind of a polarizing figure and boy has he not helped himself now. Who sends out a cease and desist letter on one of his own mothers auctions? Well when the woman is trying to sell your stuff for a profit when you won’t give her all the money she wants for a house then you have your answer. Is Kobe obligated to pay outright for his moms house just because he makes ridiculous money? Does their icy history mean this is going to turn ugly? There is also a discussion about the NCAA and their failed practices of not offering health coverage for athletes according to The Atlantic. It is a startling read and should not be ignored like it has by ESPN and most major outlets. So read that and then listen to the show because he guys have their opinions on all this and much more so give it a listen.

The Shield

Thanks to the Stunt Granny photography department aka “The Woman”

Stunt Granny is back with another edition of the Stunt Granny Audio! The guys actually talk wrestling for a change because Kevin attended Monday Night Raw. Dusty joins him and asks an important question. After noting that the crowd was much larger than the one in November, Dusty asked “What do you think caused the jump in attendance? What is different?” Which piece of the puzzle had more new shirts at this Raw than anyone expect for the standard bearers like John Cena, CM Punk, Randy Orton and Sheamus? Part of the change in attendance is Kevin’s fellow Kent State Alumni Dolph Ziggler. Did he get a crowd boost because he was near his old stomping grounds in Kent? Does Dusty again with Kevin about Dolph’s ability to sell? The third pillar in this attendance equation is Fandango but what happened to his fancy entrance? How good of a dancer is Fandango? The last part of the change equation is The Shield. How easily can Kevin point out the obvious about Roman Reigns when he walked past his row to the ring? Does Dusty make an inappropriate joke? Kevin wraps up Raw Live by talking about his usual habit of people watching. Would turning John Cena heel work from a merchandising stand point? What kind of a cross section did Kevin sit in? Dusty had one last question for Kevin, what the hell is up with Ring of Honor? Find out that and more when you click the link below!

Stunt Granny Sports Show #7

2013-01-08-saban-nick-4_3_r536_c534

Yeah that’s right after a week or two off it is the return of The Stunt Granny Sports Show. Jeremy and Eric2 bring the insight about the important things in sports. What would that be you might ask? Well, how about the round one of the NFL Draft? Was the choice of E.J. Manuel really that bad? What should the Buffalo Bills have done with their harvest of picks? Did they actually need to take a quarterback at all? How exactly did the NFL Draft become the vet that it is now? Remember when it was covered primarily to make fun of Jets fan? They also talk about the NFL minor leagues ad he new College Football Playoff. What a weak name but could you do better? Is the four team playoff enough? Why not include all of the bowls instead of a select six? Why the hell is it the Chick-Fil-A Bowl instead of the much better Peach Bowl? Does it matter since it will be 2025 before it can change? They then discuss the first , possibly, openly gay football player. Does sexuality matter at all in sports? Why didn’t this story receive any mainstream coverage while he was at school? Is it more acceptable to be a gay college athlete than a professional? Does it mean as much that a kicker come out as openly gay instead of a defensive lineman? What is the bigger issue; being gay in pro sports or being gay and dropping a game winning pass?  It will all makes sense as long as you listen. So get to downloading!

Retro Movie Review – The Octagon Starring Chuck Norris

octagonmovieposter

Ken and Kevin are back with another edition of the Retro Movie Review. Kevin suggested The Octogan after having his memory jogged by Dana White on Joe Rogan’s Podcast. Did Ken get to watch this movie as a child? Did his father approve of Chuck Norris? Why is that even relevant? No one is surprised that Chuck Norris is a bad ass in this movie but what caused this bad ass to turn his back on participating in karate tournaments. There are both mercenary ninjas and terrorist ninjas in this movie. Lee Van Cleef leads the mercenary ninjas. Who leads the terrorist ninjas and what relation does he have? Why aren’t both of these groups one in the same? What did the terrorist ninjas do to get such a reputation? How much of a mystique are put on ninjas in this movie?  Ken & Kevin get around to talking about Chuck Norris’s physique. What contribution did Ken’s wife make? How old was Chuck Norris when he filmed this movie in 1980? If terrorist ninjas were recruiting, where would you look to sign up? What do the terrorist recruits have in common with the rag tag group of cabbies in D.C. Cab? Chuck is slaying the ladies in this movie but who ends up being his true love interest? And how exactly does she help him invade The Octagon? Find that out and more when you click the play button below!

Stunt Granny Audio: Retro Movie Theater – D.C. Cab

dccab

Kevin is joined with his long time friend Ken for the unveiling of Retro Movie Theater where in they go back to movies of yesteryear and review it as if it was a new flick. Sometimes, we will have seen it as a child and other times we will have not. While we may make fun of these movies, we’re not looking for Mystery Science Theater 3000 level bad movies. They kick off by talking about D.C. Cab which Ken feels like he watched as a family or did he? Was there any chance in hell that the DiFrango household would have watched this one? They move on to trying to figure out who exactly is the lead character in this movie. It certainly wasn’t Mr. T even though he is featured in all of the movie advertisements. Who all did make an appearance in this movie? Does the name Irene Cara ring a bell to you? Ken & Kevin move on to describing the plot of this movie about a rag tag group of cabbies in Washington D.C. Did anyone ever dream of becoming a cabbie in the big city? Do the cabbies want to make money or play pranks? Would the owner tolerate non-sense instead of firing the cabbies? How many ethnicities can the writers stereotype in one movie? They move on to talking about how many plots were in this movie. How many sub-plots can you fit into 100 minutes? Are any of them fleshed out properly?  Even if they weren’t, Ken & Kevin have this new show fleshed out so click on the link below!

By the time this posts they will be beaten by Florida anyway so who cares really.  What is up with Chicago sports teams and their gimmicky intermission and seventh inning stretch shenanigans?  How has Mr. T maintained his celebrity status for all of these years without ay real work being done in the last thirty? Is he the smartest celebrity hockey intermission player of all time? Would you drink a milkshake mixed with ice cream and beer? Why not? It is made with craft beer? No? Still not tempted? Well The Charleston RiverDogs are betting you will be enticed. Oh minor league sports. Why is Tim McClelland calling balls and strikes from behind the mound? Has this ever been done before?
