Zema Ion could use some help since TNA isn’t giving him any.

Xema-Ion

Zema Ion needs help covering his upcoming medical expenses. During a routine CAT scan doctors discovered a 5 cm tumor located on his colon. The results of the biopsy is still pending but it will need to be removed regardless. Zema’s girlfriend has set up  a Give Forward account so that fans, if they feel inclined, can donate to Zema’s bills that will total approximately $30,000. If you feel so inclined please give generously.

Now that the important details are out of the way, um, one question comes to mind: Why the hell should the fans be forking over any money towards his medical expenses? Shouldn’t his expenses be covered by the matriarch of the TNA family Dixie Carter and Panda Energy? He is an employee after all.

I suppose this could be too idealistic but isn’t Dixie Carter the head of TNA? Isn’t Dixie Carter the President of Total Nonstop Action? Is this the same woman who was quoted in a Bleacher Report Article from March, 2013?

So, I’ve just tried to create a really positive environment, and I care about these people tremendously—they know that—and I think that’s why they try so hard back, and why being successful here means so much to them. They’re not just collecting a paycheck and it shows.

In case that quote was too long to read she says she cares about these people her employees/talent, tremendously. Well then isn’t this a perfect opportunity to stick to her words and willingly and openly cover the costs for Zema’s medical expenses? Wouldn’t this be an absolute validation of her statement? In the interest of fairness maybe this has happened already. Maybe Dixie has reached out and explained they will cover his expenses due to him being part of the TNA family. Yes it is all corporate speak but seriously just stop. How can any reporter or columnist conducting the interview not smirk or snicker when they hear something like that?

This isn’t a call for TNA and more importantly Dixie Carter to step in and make one good gesture. This is a call for TNA, Panda Energy and Dixie Carter to do right by their employees and their business. Go further than is expected and what could be argued against. There will be the argument this is not an in ring injury and therefore TNA is off the hook. This is a valid thought but this isn’t about that. It is about Dixie Carter backing up her words. Backing up her talk of caring about every one of the people. TNA and Dixie have already made perceived mistakes, errors or flat out poor decisions with talent in the past. It is time for her to act like the person she has created in the public face. You care about everyone then step forward and assure and guarantee you will do whatever is needed for Zema to move forward with his heath and not worry about the potential debt afterward.

Don’t place stipulations on your assistance. Do not tie in a new contract with your help. Do not hold it over the talents head after the help has been given and accepted. Give the assistance that is needed and sit back to reap the reward. In doing so it is possible that it could build a stronger worker/employer relationship. It could come back during negotiations that said employee will remember the generosity.

If not, Dixie Carter and anyone associated with TNA or Panda Energy need to shut the fuck up going forward. -Jeremy

#ROH Is The Worst Part I

terribletwos

Ring of Honor deserves to be covered by no wrestling websites, even our dumpy little space. But I can’t resist bashing these morons. I had a good chuckle to myself that the last show I watched them on Tuesday and the announcers were talking like the show aired before their pay per view. I suppose if I had no life and watched at 5 PM on a Saturday I could have viewed it before the iPPV. That’s why I had to write this article though. The only non Raw crowd related article that grabbed my attention on Prowrestling.Net was that ROH’s iPPV feed crapping out, again. I don’t know why they deserve a spot on a syndicated show even if they’re in terrible time slots like 5 PM on  Saturday and Monday morning at 12:05 AM because reruns of Two and a Half Men always run over. The crapped out feed shows why I will not be attending their show that they will have here in Columbus. TNA has at least progressed far enough along that I would probably go to their show if the price is reasonable. I will most definitely be going to Raw that is at Nationwide Arena especially now that I renewed my PSL. Just recently, I ordered an iPPV from Prime Wrestling. A much smaller company than ROH. I had absolutely no problems with their feed. I even went back to watch it several times with no problems.

I am considering quitting watching their program because I watch too much TV anyway. But part of me wants to continue to rip off Jeremy’s old idea of “What TNA Did Right This Week”. Except, I’m going to take one moment from each show and illustrate why ROH is the worst. If I entertain myself and hopefully you, I’ll continue to watch this dog shit. -Kevin

gorilla-brothers-reunited-after-3-years-apart-001

Halleluiah and praise the heavens everyone it is The Audio Experience. Yes, Stunt Granny proudly presents to you Stunt Granny Audio #219. Dusty and Jeremy are reunited after a short spell and they talk all sorts of words. They discuss the Detroit Tigers closer situation. Why you may ask? Well Dusty is in full fantasy baseball mode and needs a steal to come in better than eighth place. They then talk about the different sports venues they have visited and decide just what famous landmarks hold no interest to them. What has happened to wrestling? Is it even worth discussing without going over the same old same old? Is it possible to discuss wrestling now without being totally negative or defeated? Who doesn’t feel like it any longer and why? Who forced our heroes in to a wrestling discussion it the first place? The answer is a surprise as well.  So, in order to find out all you have to do is download the show and give it a listen.

romanian-ghost

Jeremy starts off the show by talking about the ghosts that are haunting his house. Or was it his car? Did he smell scents? What was the trigger? How dumb founded is Kevin during this whole explanation. They turn their talk to wrestling as usual. Why did Punk use Paul Giamatti? Who thinks Giamatti could be cast as Paul Heyman in a movie? Should this promo have come last week? How did Punk’s promo tie into the end of the show? Is it good that he now seems divorced from Paul Heyman? Isn’t that why Heyman was answering for Brock Lesnar on Miz TV? Is Punk also divorced from Brad Maddox & The Shield? Is it good that they lost another large fight? Okay, so that one is obvious but they move on to a heel that could get some traction, Mark Henry. Is he capturing a demographic that isn’t sought by the WWE? Would these fans also root for Ryback? What did Jeremy think about Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara as they were being attacked by Henry? TNA is finally going on the road. How large is the arena they are doing their first taping at? Is too small, too large or just the right size for TNA? Will this help their wrestlers? Will the crowds be as hot as those for previous TNA road tapings? Find out the answers to these questions and more when you click the link below. Unless your ghost won’t let you.

Hulk Hogan + Brooke Hogan = Perv Twitter Responses

BrookesLegs

According to Prowrestling.net, Hulk Hogan got in trouble by the Twitter-verse for sending out this picture of his daughter that was labeled “Brooke’s legs”. For some reason, the Hulkster didn’t think this image would invoke the picture of him rubbing oil on his daughter’s ass or responses of him being a pervert on Twitter. The Hulkster has taken a break from Twitter after two days of being beaten up about it. For a change, I agree with Hulk that this isn’t creepy. Is it stupid? You better believe it. Brooke has great legs. It’s just too bad she has a man’s chin and face. Aside from that minor problem, she’s all woman.

As an added bonus, I found this picture of a t shirt for his new restaurant, Hogan’s Beach.

HogansBeach

It’s a fun t shirt that has more thought in it than any shirt currently on WWEShop or ShopTNA currently. I can’t delve into the meaning of this shirt because it’s standard design work. Glory Day Hulk Hogan? Check. Riding a shark because he’s so bad ass? Check. Beach? Whoops. I guess it’ll be at the end of the water they’re showing. I hope the shark doesn’t beach itself or Hogan might have PETA to answer to on Twitter instead of a bunch of creepy Twitter trolls. -Kevin

TNA has a new television program and network

Poop. Poop is an idea.

Poop. Poop is an idea.

TNA announced today they have reached a two year contract extension with FUEL TV to air what assuredly is compelling television. FUEL who carries Impact Wrestling will now be adding TNAs new programs , well here is how they describe it.

‘Unfinished Business’ – an in-depth look at historic feuds and moments in IMPACT WRESTLING history – and ‘British Boot Camp’, a thrilling six-part entertainment series following four aspiring British wrestlers as they embark on their ambition to join TNA’s wrestling roster.

Now you may be wondering if I have gotten the channel name wrong. No it is not Spike TV carrying IMPACT wrestling,  it is definitely FUEL TV. It just so happens that we are talking about Australian television and not the good ole US of A. Yup, TNA is trumpeting a television deal with a network in a totally different country since the company makes no waves over here.

Just how long is this Unfinished Business show supposed to run? What historic feuds have they had? They certainly have had feuds but nothing really historic. So, it should have a shelf life of about four to six weeks I figure.

Leave it to the exhausted braintrust of TNA to concentrate on another program when their flagship program still draws the exact same god damn rating it has for years. There has been no growth other than the amount of television they have and even then they are ridding themselves of PPVs. So there is less money making potential with less PPVS but now we get a nostalgia show of a company that has been around ten years.

I give up.  -Jeremy

The Art of Wrestling: #UFC’s Benson Henderson by Dethrone

BensonWings

I don’t have a lot of favorites in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) but Benson Henderson is certainly one of them. I started enjoying his fights when he was in World Elite Cagefighting (WEC). He had a thoroughly entertaining fight with “Cowboy” Donald Cerrone. Ever since then, I’ve followed his career quite closely and looked forward to any event. He fought smartly to soundly defeat Nate Diaz at UFC on Fox 5. Henderson wore a new shirt to the ring. Considering my penchant for reviewing merchandise, I figured this was a good topic.

It was easy to notice that Henderson’s shirt played off of his back tattoo (above for those who are blind) by having an angel wielding a sword. The idea of taking from the fighters tattoos is definitely something that has happened in the WWE with Edge. The feathers on the angel are layered well because of the black and white contrast. The feathers however don’t have a grey tone like Henderson’s tattoo which makes them easier to print but does hold back the depth. The feathers and wings are a perfect show of contrast, if it weren’t for the fact that the background is a dark grey. Even if they lightened it up to a heather grey, it’d be a much better contrast from the image to the background.

The armor is colored a flat gold which keeps a contrast but doesn’t provide much of a pop because of the flatness. The black that helped to provide depth for the feathers, helps to dull the gold even more. They also use it in a heavy handed way on the skirt armor but more sparingly on the other pieces of armor.

The last main part of the shirt is the print at the top of the shirt. I have noted my affinity for Gothic lettering more than once. I think it is a good choice considering that Dethrone is inspired by medieval monarchies. They use white for Dethrone and the flat gold for Royalty Co. It’s a solid and standard use for multiple colors. What I don’t like is the giant black blob underneath the lettering and above the right hand wing. It would have looked less like a blob if the black were trimmed for the background dark grey.

The rear of the shirt just has a stamp for Dethrone and “Smooth” Ben Henderson on it which is nice. Overall, I dig this shirt a lot. Now I hope Henderson can take out his next challenger. -Kevin

New TNA Jeff Hardy album isn’t released, it escaped!

Jeff Hardy -

“A-duuuhhhhhhhhhhhh”

According to Prowrestling.net, TNA mega-super-duperstar Jeff Hardy has released his debut album, “Similar Creatures,” on the TNA Knockout Music label. (Wow, really TNA? A record label? I know WWE has one too, but I assure you this was a money-making strategy and not another example of a presidential hairbrush handle in the cooch.) For those of you who haven’t heard Mumbly Jeff Hardy’s post-grunge flounderings in the past, waste your own time Googling it, I’m at work right now. But I assure you, the same kids who run around their backyards like Day-Glo mongoloids in their Jeff Hardy T-shirts and wristbands are going to listen to this and cringe. And keep in mind, they eat paste. -Eric

IdiotsEverywhere

Jeremy and Kevin are back and they’re talking about idiots, idiots everywhere. The biggest idiot may be in Kevin’s office. Kevin lays out his evidence and would like to know if you know anyone that competes in his utter lack of knowledge. They move on to talk about the idiots in the WWE. Why do they feel the need to have the heels lose all of the time? Does Eve Torres winning count as a heel victory? How about Vickie Guerrero? Jeremy took issue with Kevin not liking Brad Maddox. What excuse for poor writing did Kevin come up with? Somehow, the guys migrate to talking about the idiots that run TNA. What similarities do their idiots have with the WWE idiots? What would help Aces & Eights? Who didn’t know DOC stood for Director of Chaos? How does that dovetail with his wrestling viewing habits? Jeremy & Kevin do talk about the idiots running ROH. Not for long as they ping pong between TNA & the WWE. Could both companies learn from critically acclaimed television these days? Could they learn from children’s television? What lessons do they think the wrestling companies can learn? Join them in this audio journey.
