Kevin’s Blog: Almost Live, Definitely Half Assed Review of Smackdown

Christian turning retrospective starts the show. Orton gets a nice reception. Orton doesn’t care about his concussion and wants to take on Christian. Teddy Long tells Orton sit. Christian comes out. Christian tells him his concussion will be a good excuse for when Orton losses. It’s a real bummer to know Orton went in for concussion tests. These two are great in the ring.  Sheamus comes out. Sheamus puts himself over. Christian shouldn’t call Sheamus Strawberry Shortcake. Cole goes off, Booker defends him.

Priceless & Barrett vs. Bryan, Zeke & Sin Cara. Seriously, a commercial? Hella too soon.

Wow, that was a weird pin. Bryan gets what looks like a botched victory. Stryker’s hairdo is ridiculous. I wonder wht Sheamus using yellow in the background color of his shirt. He’s going to look Jamaican. Sheamus puts himself over again.

Kozlov gets to put over Jinder Mahal. No one seems to care. Kozlov gets some offense.  Khali chops Kozlov so that Mahal can get a cheap one.

Big Show talks to Josh Matthews who wonders why Big Show is on SD. Show heard Del Rio was going to be there. That promo was weird. Teddy Long helps smooth things over. Oh no, he tells Big Show he’s being sued for the attack on Rich Rod. Mark Henry gets to take on Show.

Big Show houses Mark Henry. So much for Smackdown’s heel count. Henry is officiallyt a joke. I get to FF. Stryker still looks like a douceh. The Shirt and tie combo are doing him no favors. Christian bitches. What women are coming to the ring? I was guessing another commercial. Booker talks about the vacuum left by Kharma. He’s right, they have had more TV time since then. Tamina Samoa Drops AJ for the victory. No wonder they waited to take the break.

Kevin’s Blog: A Day Late & A Dollar Short Review of Impact Wrestling

Guess who got the left over Coors Light from the bachelor party? This guy.

I’m not really excited that Coors Light is my choice of beers but they were sort of free from last weekend’s bachelor party at Put In Bay. Eric wanted me to write some small stories but everyone esle on the site is better at those things than me. I’m going to mock TV shows. It’s after Smackdown (10:30 PM) but I think I’m going for the double dip tonight. Impact Wrestling Blog then a Smackdwon blog as a separate post. It should be interesting taking down “4″ hours of wrestling. I should finish in no more than 3. Let’s do this.

We start with a review of the pay per view. They show the TNA Heavyweight Championship material last even though it wasn’t that way on the PPV. To aid in watching, I’m not watching ring entrances. Gunner “breaks up” (Anderson was done talking for a decent length of time) Anderson’s rant according the announcers. Gunner is not good on the stick. Gunner falls for the beer trick. Anderson is dumb enough to turn his back on him. We get the hype for the rest of the show. What a lame opening segment.

Hernandez takes on Devon. Pope distracts Devon.  When is Devon going to realize that his family is costing him his career? Pope clears the ring. Why would Devon’s kids even like Pope? Haven’t they been watching Impact Wrestling?  Bischoff makes use of the too many twists and turns with Anderson.

Angle goes thru his history winning the Gold Medal. Angle announces that he is trying out for the Olympic team. I had read the spoilers so no suprise. Jarrett interrupts unlike Gunner. We could only hope Jarrett left if he loses against Angle. Kurt talking sense to Jarrett about honor. Glad I didn’t order the PPV since I’m getting the match for free.

PWO – Season 4 – Episode 16

The beginning was a surprise.

Vic Travagliante introduced the show with no one at ring side with him. He said he was bringing positive energy to the announce booth. (I said to give him more time with Dombrowski or Maguire, not fly solo.) Vic then introduced the matches. (Not a chance in hell I keep typing his last name.)  Dombrowski was in the ring. (Ah, Vic will have a partner.) Dombrowski introduced Johnny Gargano. Dombrowski said he was glad he was back then asked how he felt. Gargano said he’s feeling as good as he ever has. Gargano said he has rehabbed the last two months and everything has grown, his mind and body. Dombrowski asked for his thoughts on losing the PWO Title. Gargano wanted to send a message to the masked man who assaulted him. Gargano told him in three weeks, the masked man should meet him in the ring. Gargano issued an open challenge for next week for anyone to test his rehabbed body.

Analysis: The wait for Gargano to come out was a little long and they didn’t quite get the reaction they wanted. The crowd is at a car show which I’m sure is good for business, but the people aren’t there specifically for the wrestling. Gargano delivered one of his more focused interviews, no John Cena like goofing around. There’s still something about the cadence of the delivery that still throws me though. I’m going to critique him more harshly than most because he’s got that much potential. Score +1.

Benjamin Boone and N8 Mattson popped on screen. Mattson said it was improbable for Gregory Iron to win the WrestleRama Rumble. He quickly remembered that the Sons of Michigan beat them for the PWO Tag Team Titles. Mattson said he’s going to make sure every body part on Iron was crippled. Boone said there was a larger matter at hand, he eliminated Jason Bane and he is dominant as Bane in wins and losses. He challenges Bane for the PWO Title. Boone said he’s going to be only the second double champion.  The Sons said they were leaving for Michigan because none of the tag team deserved a shot.

Analysis: Mattson has better delivery than Boone but I think most of it is due to experience. Boone needs to find himself in the promo department. He’s needs to go brawny guy or smart guy. He mixed them which I think made it off some. They did a great job of pointing out obvious facts hat would make one think they both have a chance at winning in singles action. Score: +1.

Shiima Xion said he should be getting a shot at gold because he beat Jason Gory and Matthew Justice. He said he was done with Facade because he has bigger fish to fry like the PWO TV Champion Bobby Beverly. Xion said Beverly is trying to be him. Xion went on to state that Beverly’s not as good looking as him and is sexier than him. Xion ended by saying that if you thought he looked good now,he’d look better with Beverly’s gold around his waste.
