Kevin’s Blog: Almost Live, Definitely Half Assed Review of iMPACT Wrestling

I'm not sure why this came up under "Let's Do This" but I love it.

Jeremy tempted me earlier this week by saying we could do a TNA Audio (Now available on iTunes. More information to come in the Big 11 on exact details.) I still watch this terrible show because of the site. Well, he back out like a big sissy. So I’m going with a blog. Let’s Do This.

Kurt Angle calls out Crimson. Angle is going to end Crimson’s career. Crimson actually showed some decent fire. Simple stuff for sure. Immortal hits the ring. I’m describing more action because most people haven’t watched this garbage in a while. Good for you. Bully Ray talks down to Crimson. Kurt still acting like he’s not part of Immortal. I’m not sure why Velvet would team that just terrorized her. Jackie is selling the good guy act. When it’s out in the open, wouldn’t Bischoff know they’re not changing? This story line makes no sense.

I just had to take ten minutes to fix the curtains that my dogs tore down. That was more interesting than the rest of iMPACT will be. Bischoff & Hogan are giving Flair a stern talking to. Hogan tries to pretend like Sting is crazy. His acting is terrible. Flair needs to be quiet. Boy, I wonder if he’s not going to stay silent. (That’s sarcasm.) Two random ass tag teams of women. This is terrible booking. ODB still having problems with Velvet. Skye ends up taking the beating for the face team? Angelina beats down Velvet. ODB & Jackie distract Mexican America long enough for Velvet to get the win. Angelina has beef with Mexican America. Hey, one of the teams had to implode. It wouldn’t be a Vince Russo show if it didn’t have that feature.

Kid Kash is so jacked up now. Jesse Sorenson takes him on. They’re still paying attention to the rankings. I’m not sure if that qualifies for “What TNA did right this week?” or not. I’ll see what the rest of the show has to offer. Sorenson is really athletic. Kash had the early offense but Sorenson dominated which ends up with Kash holding the trunks for the victory. Kash rips into Sorenson. Good way to introduce them.

BFG series review. I like the general idea but their execution is piss poor. I’ve seen one ladder match where only four of the contestants got a chance at the elusive 10 points. Some guys have been in tag matches, some haven’t. It’s too random ass. If all wrestlers had X different number of matches, it’d be fine. They’re not doing that. I saw the finish of this when I got home from the gym. Oh, it’s RVD vs Pope in a BFG series match. Van Dam with the back bridge submission. Nice. Morgan making a decent distinction between injuring yourself and someone injuring you. Submission win for RVD with the Surf Board. First time I remember seeing that. Solid match. Two in a row. The in ring talent I don’t make fun of. Samoa Joe attacks Pope. Devon yells at his kids. Stupid ass story line.

Robbie E talks to EuroTrash. Body guard offer. Sure. Immortal argues. They’re going after AJ. Mexican America argue with Angelina. Assault with no Winter around. She ends up making the save. Hernandez & Anarquia make things really awkward with bitches screaming all over the joint. Yep, quality TV. (That’s sarcasm.)

Tracy Brooks talks to Bischoff. She gets to be Knock Out Law. Eric gets to play horn dog boss. Can’t believe he didn’t plug his beer. Flair & Hogan get just over mild booing. Hogan tells Sting he’s nuts. Hogan can’t have this stuff going on because it’s a show for children. Hogan has learned from his mistakes. Sting asks for milk and cookies for all. Then puppy dogs. This Sting sucks. This Hogan sucks. This Flair stinks. He gets in Sting’s face right after I typed that. Flair is more crazy. Sting wants a match with Hogan at Bound For Glory.

AJ hits the ring. He calls out Daniels. Chris was thinking about hanging up the boots after he lost to AJ. He wants redemption. He needs to know if it’s time to retire. AJ agrees to one more match. AJ wants it next week. Seems like it will be. I hope they give it enough time. Beer Money joins AJ and commercial.

The faces meet them on the ramp. Falls count anywhere match. OK, they get points for this. How stupid. No one else has a match like this on their schedule! Abyss looking on from the ramp. It’s a see saw match with no one getting sustained offense and everyone getting involved in some form of singles competition. They split of around the arena interior. Oh, Bubba and AJ are ring side. Flying fore arm on gets AJ two. Bubba bomb on AJ picks Bubba up 7 points. Anderson clocks Steiner thru a table. Anderson uses the chain on Gunner. Mr. Anderson is now insane. Really, you needed a second psycho character?

Mickie James can’t act. You’re still smoking hot in my opinion. James wants the belt back. We go to Eric Young hunting down Scott Baio. I had to laugh that Jason Hervey & Johnny Fairplay arguing about the quality of these segments. I can’t believe I’m with Fairplay about something. He’s right. Young pins Baio to end the dreadful series. Oh, that’s right, Crimson versus Angle is the main event. If it goes past 11, I won’t see it. Boo hoo. JB does the intros. Crowd is into Crimson. He dominates the first part of the match. His selling is coming. It starts as they go to break.

Crimson is in a seated Abdominal Stretch. Angle has the head lock from hell on. Crimson finally breaks out. Crimson no sells the German Suplex and spears Angle. He only got two. Angle locks on the ankle lock. Crimson kicks out of it. Two for Crimson after the sky high. Samoa Joe attacks Crimson. Angle lets Joe attack Crimson. Lame. Joe sucks. Crimson actually got out of the big move set up by Joe. That will not help Joe look better TNA. –Kevin
