CM Punk’s Long Term Plan

The long term effects of alcohol will be of no concern to CM Punk

A little more than a month ago, I asked of CM Punk “Does he cry at night that he gets to say what’s wrong but it doesn’t actually solve the problem?” I got my answer in an interview that Punk had with Mickey, Amelia & Spiegel  on 98 Rock in Baltimore (thanks Prowrestling.net)

I recognize I still have a lot of stuff left to do. People need to get comfortable at the idea that stuff doesn’t happen overnight. I’m in this for the long haul, and I’m such a student of the game. I actually care so much, I’m not looking at tomorrow for everything to be different and better, I’m looking 10 years from now.

I’m very happy that he is in it for the long haul but it’s still hard to tolerate the long string of poor shows as showcased by the three-hour Monday Night Raw this week. The only type of person that will help turn around this company is someone who has a vision for the better and is willing to tough out this downturn. Punk finally got the stamp of approval from WWE management a couple of months ago so it would be too much to ask for him to have gotten more of his ideas thrown into the writing mix. I’ll hope that he helps to push guys behind the scenes to make something happen on their own like Zack Ryder did. I’ll expect his on-air bitching to continue — even though in some instances, he may be pulling back the curtain too far. Now if I could only promise that I’ll be watching in ten years when CM Punk and others help get this sinking ship turned around. -Kevin
