Almost Live, Definitely Half Assed Review of #WWE #Raw

inspired_bei_mondrian_by_manshonyaggerI couldn’t think of the artist of the above art work when I was talking to Ken & his lovely wife before recording OHPA 21 which will eventually be posted. I keep forgetting to upload it. I have the write up done. Maybe I’ll do that after the Review. That’d be smart. Let’s roll.

The Authority greets us. Steph & HHH do some intro work but Seth Rollins gets the first real promo though. He wants John Cena next. Randy Orton delivers a hell of a promo of frustration. He then attacks Rollins. They get separated. HHH tries to talk Orton down. He ends up RKOing Rollins. Slick move by Orton. Jamie Noble & Joey Mercury are earning their spots.

The Dust Brothers are being challenged by Big Show & Mark Henry so that one of them can finally turn. I’m guessing it’s Mark Henry. The inset promo between the two makes me think that even more. Henry starts against Goldust. Henry tosses him into the corner for a tag in by Stardust. Big Show gets in early. Henry starts bitching when Show tags in the next time. Commercial. Henry did have a right to bitch so if he turns, it’d be kind of weird. That hasn’t stopped the WWE recently from other bizarre decisions in heel/face relations. See Paige vs AJ Lee or Brie vs Nikki Bella. Big Show tags himself in again which annoys Henry. Big Show takes over. He KO Punches Stardust. Henry comes in the ring and World’s Strongest Slams Show. Stardust is draped over Show for the win. After Henry barks at the Dust Brothers, he WSSs him again. Some of the crowd chants one more time. Henry obliges.

Mark Henry knows that Big Show is jealous of him. Thanks for not giving them the tag titles. Roman Reigns is on via satellite. Reigns is ready to make Seth Rollins the past. I would say he’s coming back relatively soon with that promo.

AJ Lee trotted to the ring before the break. Alicia Fox is her opponent again because only these three can wrestle. Natalya is hate-able and will never have a shot to carry the division. Paige is on the head set again. She is pleased as peach with Foxy again. AJ makes the match interesting after I fell asleep. Tilt a Whirl back breaker stops the come back. Paige slaps the mat which draws Fox. AJ rolls her up for the win. Paige comes into the ring and fake apologizes. She attacks when Alicia buys it. I’m all for a new feud but isn’t Alicia getting her ass kicked a little too handily? Jerry Lawler saves Fox.

thanksgivingtraditions_openerJohn Cena gets to come out for a speech. He sucks up the crowd by talking about Spurs. Cena sells the whole fighting champion bit. The NBA Finals aren’t every week. Even boxing and MMA fighters only defend it about three times a year. Cena is ready to go through “The Future” in Seth Rollins. Stephanie shows up. She has a business proposition for him. She points out the “Sucks” chants and runs him down in general. The Authority will bring Cena respect. Are they chanting “No” or “Go”? They can guarantee a victory over Brock. Cena still isn’t buying the same thing everyone else has tried to sell him. Steph doesn’t think the crowd will remember Cena. Your writers won’t remember Cena, but the fans will. HHH gets to extend this segment even more. He sells Cena on an angle that no one has pitched yet, age is catching up to Cena. It’s going to be Team Authority vs Team Cena. Orton sabotages it for Team Authority. HHH ends by saying the Authority always wins. Just when they had stepped out of the spot light, they jump back in.

The Usos are taking on The Miz & Damien Mizdow. I’d love for these two clowns to be champs but it’s kind of tough with a bizarre heel team holding the titles. Of course the Usos will join Team Cena. They’ve backed him before. The WWE immediately forgets their own history after telling the fans they don’t have one. Yep. Double Uso Dive. The Miz is working over Jey after the break. My brain already hurts on the speculation already. The Shield has stood up to them. Roman Reigns could be an ace in the hole after the promo tonight. Michael Cole corrects JBL who completely butchered the Tom Brady narrative. Jimmy gets a hot tag. A Samoan Drop. Jey takes advantage of the Money Maker. Mizdow saves the match. The Usos use Twin Magic to win. I understand the irony that is supposed to be involved but I still want to puke. John Cena talks to Dolph Ziggler who has also been previously punished by The Authority. It could be a team of all logical picks. JBL is playing his part by saying no one should join but Cool or Lawler need to suggest these people.

Kane talks to Dolph Ziggler about talking to John Cena. Kane is angry at Dolph. I suppose Dolph will get his biggest win in a while tonight. At least backing up the two straight pin fall show last night. Hulk Hogan is geeked for John Cena. Does it make me a bad person to FF thru his speech?

Bo Dallas made an open challenge. Ryback answers. Nice. He could benefit greatly from this re-boot. FEED ME MORE! Shellshock still sucks as a finisher. JBL cracked me up this match.

Bray Wyatt is stealing my gimmick – Ellstin Limehouse from imdb.com

Cesaro came to the ring. Dean Ambrose comes to ring and starts ranting and raving about Bray Wyatt while pacing on the announcer’s desk. Ambrose starts cracking Cesaro in the head with the mic repeatedly. Ambrose isn’t much for smoke and mirrors. Bray Wyatt is in smoke filled studio setting. Wyatt finds similarities to him and Ambrose. He’s going to dismantle Ambrose’s mind. He warns Ambrose to flee. How the fuck did we not get a reaction shot of Ambrose after that? He was just in the ring!

Nikki Bella is taking on Trinity. Brie is reluctantly at ring side. Nikki Strong Style is taking over this match and making Brie squirm. The announcers try to act concerned with Brie’s plight but no one can sell this garbage. Trinity makes a come back. No Twin Magic any more. Brie holds onto Trinity’s foot. Nikki thanks her. Rack Attack. Brie is brooding. I’m weeping that I need to watch this for another month.

Kane takes on Dolph Ziggler. I like JBL’s defense except that he ignores some valid facts presented by Cool & Lawler for a change. It is a good match. Why are the announcers making sense all of a sudden? Strange segment. Ziggler has the moment until a big right hand catches him diving in. Kane drop kicks a sitting up Ziggler. Cole references keeping your ear to the ground for people Cena is talking to. Thanks for being confusing again. All is right in the world. Dolph reigns punches down in the corner. Neck breaker. One big elbow. Kane misses the clothes line from the top rope. Ziggler hits the Fame Asser. Kane shrugs off a Zig Zag attempts. Kane nails him with a big boot.  Two count only. Ziggler rolls through on a second choke slam attempt and pins Kane. Seth Rollins blasts Ziggler from behind with the brief case. Cena does need to make a save here. What’d he thinks would happen? Rollins bails when John Cena does arrive. Kane gets clothes lined out of the ring.

Seth Rollins gets a full entrance. He also has his ribs taped up. John Cena is ready to go but Rollins stalls. Plenty of time in the show. Rollins is really selling the injury. Cena follows him outside. Noble & Mercury run interference for a cheap shot. Mercury clocks Cena while the ref pushes back Rollins. Noble & Mercury double team Cena. Rollins suplexes Cena on the outside. Rollins slowly works over Cena. Rollins hits a Block Buster but only gets a two. Cena gets tossed into his beloved stairs. Reverse chin lock. Cena misses a shoulder block and falls outside the ring. Rollins nails a suicide dive that hurts him as much as Cena. Cena does the awkward cross body block. Rollins avoids an AA and DDTs Cena. Rollins drop kicks Cena out of the ring. The announcers have to sell Rollins missing Cena with the knee from the top rope to the head. Rollins locks in a modified sleeper? Cena rolls out of it. Rollins drop kicks Cena. Cena is the worst at beating the count. You really need to stir before the count of nine. Cena goes hot tag on Rollins. Five Knuckle Shuffle. Rollins gets tossed over the top ropes onto the Stooges. Enziguri by Rollins in the ring. Cena kicks Rollins charging in. Cena with a tornado DDT. Rollins flips out of an AA. Sliced Bread Number One. Rollins Buckle Bombs Cena. Rollins only gets a near fall. Cena turns a Curb Stomp into an STF. Kane attacks Cena for the DQ. Cayenne rips gas you don’t want to smell. Dolph Ziggler comes in to save Cena. The whole locker room comes into a giant brawl. Cena celebrates in the ring after the brawl. Who will join Cena? You’re really asking that after Ziggler comes out to make the save? Really? – Kevin
