#WWE Hell In A Cell Review

Botticelli-Map-of-the-Hell

– I will admit to being quite surprised by Cesaro losing two straight matches to Dolph Ziggler in a two out of three falls match up. I’m sure almost everyone was surprised by that outcome. It’s getting to the point that Cesaro‘s fall from grace may be the quickest I have witnessed in a while if not ever. If you have any suggestions that my brain isn’t recalling, feel free to leave a comment below. The match up itself was a good one even if Dolph Ziggler‘s first pin was of the weak variety.

Brie Bella vs Nikki Bella was second up. I couldn’t care less about this match so I started cleaning and watched from a distance and mostly listened. The WWE kept the match short and they executed well for a change. Nikki won because as Shahid & I noted on the podcast, the WWE loves to make the baby face squirm. Brie also got her revenge win in a meaningless six woman match on Raw.

The Usos took on The Dust Brothers for the Tag Team Titles again. The Usos have been involved in two fun feuds this year. The first was with the Wyatts and now with the Dust Brothers. Winning the belts from the New Age Outlaws was their only dud. The WWE did the smart thing this time around with the feud and has the heels winning. Stardust kicked the back of Jey’s leg which allowed Goldust to hit the Curtain Call on him for the win. I love a cheap shot being so small. Wrestling usually makes it a more noticeable and hate-able. One kick should have the ability to change the complexion of a match.

John Cena vs Randy Orton is on in the middle of the card. Youth wins out in the days of Autumn as they have so much in recent years. The WWE is finding out what will work for when they decide to start writing again in late December or January. John Cena won in a very good match. Orton showed why he should be featured more than he is now. I do hope he gets a run at Lesnar who could use at least one other feud before Wrestlemania.

Sheamus defended the US Title against The Miz with Damien Mizdow at ring side. The match was passable. Sheamus won which is not a surprise. Mizdow provided the comic relief and likely the high light of the match. The YMCA bit got a bit long for me but it broke things up.

– I missed Big Show vs Rusev because my Boxer Cayenne needed to use the facilities. It’s times like this I wish I had a back yard. Rusev won which wasn’t a surprise. Rusev is finally starting to look like the killer they have labeled him so having him lose would make Cesaro’s drop seem gentle.

AJ Lee defended her Diva’s Title against Paige who brought Alicia Fox with her. Much to everyone’s chagrin, the WWE decided that AJ Lee’s win had to be ambiguous thus leaving open the possibility this feud keeps going on. Fox tossed Paige into the ring which allowed Lee to slap on the Black Widow which isn’t a resounding win. Just prior to that, Paige was sure to be counted out which doesn’t resemble a feud ending victory either. I like these two ladies in the ring but they need some help to keep things fresh.

Dean Ambrose taking on Seth Rollins was the main event that the internet wanted. The match started out in spectacular fashion. Ambrose climbed the Cell then was joined by Jamie Noble & Joey Mercury. Rollins joined the fray to ambush Ambrose. To come down off the cage, they climbed down and did the double table spot. After the obligatory stretcher lull, they started the match inside the Cell. It was another good match. It will certainly be remembered more for the interference by Bray Wyatt that cost Ambrose the match up. Rollins got the pin. It’s not a feud ending finish for sure. Wyatt  needed something to make him look important. Rollins needed the win more than Ambrose. You end up getting this weird finish. I’m not a big fan of it but it’s not the worst thing I’ve seen either. – Kevin
