Aaron Maguire is back again to promote Wrestlelution 5: An Enduring Spirit. Just like the Undertaker, he’s keeping his streak of appearances on this podcast alive. One streak he wants to break is his clients losing at Wrestlelution. Will his man “The Megastar” Marion Fontaine beat “Omega” Aaron Draven? Will Maguire get the chance to slap the goatee off of Justin LaBar? What trick does he have up his sleeve for this match? After previewing his own match, we move on to run down most of the card. Maguire answers whether Bobby Beverly or Bobby Shields will look better bald. Will Nicki Valentino call it down the middle as the special guest referee? Matt Cross takes on Petey Williams in their first ever singles match. Does Maguire think they’ll deliver in the ring?  Rhino has delivered in rings all over the world, but will be be able to deliver against Jason Bane who is 4-0 at Wrestlelution? Or is it 5-0? Last year, Bane delivered against Krimson. With Jayme Mason now in Krimson’s corner, will he be able to defeat Matt Mason? Krimson’s disciple Gory will take on Michael Facade in a casket match? Will this be the most brutal match Wrestlelution has ever seen? A heart breaking story already is Zach Gowen taking on Gregory Iron. PWO – Season 5 – Episode 8

Injuries have taken a toll on the PWO roster. Find out below for who it is.

Joe Dombrowski and Aaron Maguire introduce the show. The main event is going to be Bobby Shields vs Johnny Gargano. Corey Winters takes on Bryan Castle too. The opener is going to be for the PWO TV Title with Jason Gory defending against Gregory Iron. The introductions took a while but Dombrowski & Maguire filled in the past between the opponents. Pedro De Lucca did formal introductions as always for a title bout. Gorey goes to the outside to start the match but Iron gave him a plancha to get things going. (The audio sounds a little off again.) An Irish Whip into one corner led to a bulldog out of the other corner. The crowd got a “Handicapped Hero” chant going. Iron got a two count on a roll up. Gorey turned it around by biting Iron’s forehead. Gorey chopped him in the corner. A suplex got Gorey a two count. Gorey launched himself into Iron’s midsection while he was in a corner. Gorey choked Iron on the middle rope then snapped his neck on it by sling shooting to the outside. Iron connected on a pair of clotheslines. Gorey gave Iron a boot to the face. Gorey got caught coming off the middle rope. Iron turned it into a neck breaker. A face buster by Iron looked similar to a Code Breaker. Iron tried to choke Gory with his shirt. The referee took it away from him. While the ref was distracted, Gorey clocked Iron with the TV Title. Gorey locked on the Anaconda Vice for the victory.

Analysis: Good match. You don’t want Iron winning at this point. Extend this feud out. I’m interested to see if Iron ends up going up the food chain to Krimson. Gorey is more suitable size wise and it’d help to take away the Dead Wrestling Society’s only gold. But taking out the leader since he took out your best friend has it’s merits too. Score: +1.

Aeroform (Louis Lynden & Flip Kendrick) celebrates their win as tag team champions. Michael “The Bomber” Facade is in the back ground. Louis Lynden starts the victory speech. He notes that the Sons of Michigan are no more. Lynden says it is Facade’s time to get single’s gold. He said that he’s let the PWO TV Title slip thru his hands too many times. Facade said he’s going to take the title out of the darkness and put it on “The Neon Ninja” where it can shine bright. Flip Kendrick says that they’re on fire.

Analysis: Not a great finish by the closer. I liked Lynden the best. Neon Ninja just makes me laugh. I know he wears lots of neon but I didn’t realize that was something to be proud of since the mid 80′s. I’m glad Facade admitted his short coming in winning the title. The Sons of Michigan are done because “Amazing” N8 Mattson retired late last year after sustaining another injury. I’d like to thank him for taking time out to talk to me last year before Wrestlelution. He was a class act and I wish him the best. Score: 0.

Veda Scott assumes that we know her and we’ve seen Wrestlelution. She blamed her loss when light reflected of someone’s hot dog wrapper. She said that she will take out Sassy Stephie to prove her point. They cut away when she was still talking. Analysis: Let’s just say she needs some work in the mic department. The focus of her character needs to be found. She didn’t go all in heel to me. She also needed to organize things better. I liked the idea of the message but she had to repeat herself or restart after a stumble more than once. Score: -1.

Corey Winters comes to the ring with Ben Fruith. Bryan Castle is accompanied by Brian Bender. Winters tried a bunch of stuff that a little man shouldn’t on a much larger opponents. Castle started with a Samoan Drop from one of those moves. Winters landed on his feet on a suplex attempt. Winters countered out of a belly to back suplex. Winters tried to slam Castle who reversed it. A leg drop by Castle only got him a two count. Winters gave Castle a pair of enziguris. Winters kicked Castle in the gut then a running boot to the face. Winters sentoned him but only got two. Bender gave Winters the lucky head band of Castle. He gave Winters a single leg drop kick. Castle power slammed Winters. Castle missed a splash in the corner. Winters rolled up Castle for the victory. Winters acted surprised. They hugged after the match. Castle then hugged Fruith & Bender.

PWO – Season 5 – Episode 3

Episode Three has Three Title matches.

Joe Dombrowski opened the show by saying that three titles will be defended this hour with the main event being “The Megastar” Marion Fontaine taking on Jason Bane for the PWO Title. Jason Gory will defend the PWO TV Title against Gregory Iron and the Sons of Michigan (“Amazing” N8 Mattson & Benjamin Boone) against Ben Fruith & Corey Winters which starts off the show. Pedro De Lucca did formal introductions with everyone in the ring. The action was slow so Dombrowski & Maguire filled the air. Maguire kept harping on Fruith & Winters getting a title shot only because they were neighbors. Winters kept a headlock on Mattson for quite a while. Mattson got the upper hand then tagged in Boone. He kept the action slow with a reverse chin lock. Winters backed Boone into a corner with forearms. Winters drop kicked Boone into another corner. Fruith tagged in and tried to double team Boone. Fruith got planted by a Ron Simmons like spine buster. Boone and Mattson worked over Fruith while tagging in and out. Boone had Fruith in a Boston Crab but Winters broke it up before a tap. Fruith went for hat appeared to be a German Suplex. Mattson had a suplex blocked which turned into a Fruith Roll up. After the two count, Fruith hot tagged Winters. He gave Mattson a Cutter then rolled out of the way so that Boone splashed Mattson. Fruith missed a top rope drop kick. Boone speared Winters out of the ring. Mattson hit the M80 (Swinging Neck Breaker into a pin fall) for the victory.

Analysis: They did a good job of hiding what should have been a squash match by having the Sons of Michigan commit a couple of errors to keep Fruith & Winters in the match. Aside from Fruith butchering a German Suplex (at least that’s what I think he was going for) it was a well wrestled match. Score: +1.

Aeroform (Flip Kendrick & Louis Lynden) were standing by. They said that they were excited to get their hands on the Sons of Michigan. Lynden admitted they made a mistake at Wrestlelution but they will not make that mistake again. Lynden said that the Sons give the state of Michigan & the titles a bad name. Kendrick finished it by saying “They’re going to flip the world, son.” Analysis: He delivered that with more conviction than normal. I just wish he hadn’t looked back to his tag team partner. The starter & closer form of their promos continues to work well. Score: +1.

Joe Dombrowski did the low voice to talk about Hobo Joe’s injuries that will keep him out indefinitely. Jason Gory came out first. (The champs came out first in the first match too.) Gory came out without the belt because the Dead Wrestling Society is keeping it hostage. Gregory Iron came out to what sounds like new music. Gory grabbed Iron  by the neck and said he’d kill him. Iron punched him and knocked him to the outside. Iron tossed Gory into the guard rail and continued pounding on him. Gory head butted Iron in the stomach followed by a jaw jacker and a boot to the head. Gory assaulting Iron in a corner. Gory pulled back a finger on his right hand that is useless because of his cerebral palsy. Gory went back to it. Gory got in a Miz clothesline in the corner. Iron shoulder blocked Gory in the corner. Iron got caught charging into the corner. Gory splashed Iron while he was on the middle rope. Gory with a sling shot double stomp but it only got him a two count. A mid ring collision allowed Iron to recover. Iron got in a pair of clotheslines then a neck breaker. Dombrowski did say that the Dead Wrestling Society is banned from ring side. Iron dropped a knee and senton. Gory gave Iron a Code Breaker from the second rope. Gory tried to use a chain which distracted the referee. Gory blew mist in Iron’s eyes. Gory hit Trepidation (Spinning piledriver) for the victory.

PWO – Season 5 – Episode 2

I posted hot twins for Episode 2 last year. I figured why not again.

Joe Dombrowski and Aaron Maguire preview the show. “The Megastar” Marion Fontaine takes on “M Dogg 20″ Matt Cross in the main event for the #1 Contendership for the PWO Title. Bobby Shields vs. “Omega” Aaron Draven and Krimson vs. Brian Bender is also on the card. The later match was first. Dombrowski informed us that Hobo Joe will be out indefinitely from the injuries last week. Krimson assaulted Bender before he could get to the ring. Krimson missed a charge on the outside. It allowed Bender to suplex Krimson on the floor. Bender tossed him into the ring. Krimson charged into the corner but got back elbowed. Krimson crotched Bender on the middle rope. Krimson fore armed Bender in the chest. Bender fought back with chops and punches. Krimson gave Bender the big boot then clothes lined him. Bender pulled Krimson off the top rope. Krimson head butted then low clothes lined Bender in the back of the head. A Witch’s Wheel got Krimson the victory. Kirst & Jason Gory came out to attack Bender. The baby face locker room empties to save Bender.

Analysis: Bender went a little too over board with his actions to me. Too deep of a knee bend when punching, attacking a little too woozy, that kind of a thing. Having Krimson get a win back after Wrestlelution over one of the bigger men in PWO was a good idea though. Krimson didn’t quite squash him but it was close. I like the locker room emptying earlier this week. So many times, another beat down happens and it just is bad logic to me. Once you know someone is going to carry out their threat, like the Dead Wrestling Society, you need to keep an eye on them and nip further assaults from happening. Score: +1.

The Sons of Michigan, Benjamin Boone & “Amazing” N8 Mattson, are going to take on Ben Fruith & Corey Winters before they take on Aeroform (Louis Lynden & Flip Kendrick) .  Mattson bragged about them dominating the tag team division. He went on to say that even though Aeroform are from Michigan, they are the only ones to truly represent Michigan. Mattson said they out smarted Aeroform at Wrestlelution and they’ll do it again in the next match. Boone said something was on his mind and it was Ben Fruith because he won’t stay out of their business. Mattson said it was going to be too easy but then reminded us that Fruith stole the Wrestlerama Trophy from him and that he owes him one. “Hail To The Victors” is officially a catch phrase for them.

Analysis: Good promo for both of them. I wish Boone got a little more to sink his teeth into for his end but I’m not sure that was his fault. Score: +1.

Corey Winters & Ben Fruith are sitting back to back with the Wrestlerama Trophy behind them. They both say that each other has been friendless for too long and high five. Fruith said that he liked winning the trophy more at Wrestlelution than he did that first time over and he acted like he didn’t know. Winters “tagged in” and answered N8 Mattson. Winters said they are wrestling for the PWO Tag Team Titles. Fruith said that they’re going to bring an end to the Sons of Michigan’s reign. Analysis: On the one hand, that promo was completely gay. On the other hand, Winters & Fruith have characters for the first time ever. So it’s a wash. Score: 0.

Bobby Shields took on “Omega” Aaron Draven. Dombrowski noted that Shields wrestled in a grueling two out of three falls match last week. A shoulder block by Shields led to him posing. Shields punch Draven in the corner. Draven kicked Shields to the outside. Shields dropped Draven over the middle rope. A Neck breaker by Shields led to more posing. A neck cravat allowed Shields to knee Draven in the face. Draven rolled up Shields but only got two. Shields had a nice looking suplex. Shields missed on a third knee dropped. Draven drop toe holded Shields into the middle rope. Shields clothes lined Draven. Another cravat/knee combo led to a running high knee by Shields. Draven turned it out with three kicks. Draven hit a pair of leaping clothes lines then an enziguri which draped Shields on the middle rope. Draven sentoned him but only got a two count. Draven spine bustered Shields. A German Suplex by Shields only got a two count. A roll thru slam from the fire man’s carry position put Shields in the corner to take the 450 splash from Draven for the victory.

PWO – Season 4 – Episode 11

You've got to love the intestine liner.

Pro Wrestling Ohio decided to start with a replay of “The Megastar” Marion Fontaine slapping Justin LaBar after dropping the PWO Title to Jason Bane. Joe Dombrowski congratulated Bane but he quickly went to ripping on on Fontaine and apologizing to LaBar. Dombrowski said that Fontaine’s apology is coming next week. He said that no one should strike a fan and the fans shouldn’t strike the wrestlers.

Analysis: Solid way to cover your ass if you’re worried that a fan will do something dumb to a wrestler. Dombrowski goes over board with the indignation but that is the way of wrestling. Score: 0.

Dombrowski (after being backstage) is at ring side and introduces Vic Travagliante as his color man because Aaron Maguire is incapacitated. Sex Appeal vs. Aeroform is the main event to be the number one contender for the PWO Tag Team Titles. Benjamin Boone takes on Ben Fruith (Couldn’t be less excited) and Shima Xion takes on Matthew Justice to be in line for a TV Title match.

Xion versus Justice is immediately up. They both look to be in great shape. They talked about Krimson and his plans for the PWO Title. (I think he’s the only guy that matches up physcially with Bane so it’s a good choice.) They started with some basic moves and reversals. There were a couple of of botched moves. It led to Xion finally taking over the match.Xion suplexed Justice and only got two. He attacked frustrated then posed while hair spraying himself. Xion rolled through a sunset flip and kicked Justice in the chest. Xion gave Justiece a bear hug from behind.  Justice elbowed his way out then power slammed Xion but couldn’t capitalize. Justice did his best Cena impersonation. Xion locked in a cross face. Justice rolled out and gave Xion a Death Valley Driver. Xion kicked out at two. Xion turned a springboard into another cross face which forced the tap out. They hyped the main event again. (Enough already).

Analysis: Well, I mentioned Justice signing a WWE Developmental deal so I figure this win by Xion is a way to get someone over who’s sticking around. Xion has been good when he has been around which has been infrequently in the past. Let’s hope he sticks around because he can add something good to the roster. Good match outside of the pair of botched moves. Score: +1.

The Homeless Handicapped Connection (Gregory Iron & Hobo Joe) were telling Ben Fruith that they are his friends. Iron tells him he needs to be more aggressive. Hobo Joe told him to talk trash. Joe cuts a promo about how he’s going to slice open Benny Boone and put N8 Mattson inside of Boone. Iron told Fruith that he talked to the producers and Fruith is allowed to drop any words he wants to. Fruith then said he strongly disagrees with Mattson & Boone’s beliefs. Iron & Joe are disappointed but they tell him it’s a good start.

PWO – Season 4 – Episode 9

Joe Dombrowski and Aaron Maguire introduce the show. Joe tells us that Bobby Shields versus Raven is the main event. Dombrowski mentions that “M-Dogg 20″ Matt Cross was on another national TV show (Tough Enough). He questions how good Maguire’s connections are to help Marion Fontaine’s chances in the title match by getting rid of Cross. Maguire dodges the questions by going to the ring to celebrate with “The Megastar” Marion Fontaine. Fontaine brags about being at the top of the company. Fontaine admits that Maguire is his business associate. Maguire said that he’s thrown everything at Jason Bane but his best investment against him has been Fontaine. “The Megastar” starts badgering Justin LaBar. Fontaine says that LaBar giving him a hard time helped to inspire him to the PWO Title.  Fontaine rips LaBar for sitting behind a computer. “The Megastar” says that Bane needs the PWO Title to be PWO’s most dominant man. Dombrowski notes that the main event next week is Jason Bane against Marion Fontaine for the Title and previews the rest of the show.

Analysis: Dombrowski, Fontaine & Maguire covered a lot of ground which I think hurt the segment. It was a bit of information overload. I don’t think it was necessary to include LaBar into this spot because the rest of the information was history between Bane & Maguire or Fontaine & the Company. By the tone of Fontaine’s comments, I got a good feeling that we’re going to see LaBar in the ring at some point. Yuck. It’s good to lay out the previews of the show but having previews before and after the in ring promo was bad. Put them at the beginning or end. They also could have just stuck to this week’s show and just hyped the Title defense later in the show. The information was conveyed well enough but not the best work from any of them. Score: 0.

Matthew Justice is backstage. He talked about feeling good with a tag team (with Raven) victory over Krimson and Jason Gory. He said he’s going to march into the mouth of hell that Krimson vowed to unleash on the PWO. Justice finish by saying “I’m young. Metal. And ready to attack.”

Analysis: I’m not a fan of many of the tag lines on this show. This one bummed me out more than usual though because he did a great job with the material leading up to it. Score: +1.

PWO – Season 4 – Episode 7

Vic Travgliante was on TV first. He said that “M-Dogg 20″ Matt Cross but the rest of the main event, Jason Bane, Marion Fontaine and PWO champion Johnny Gargano were there.

Joe Dombrowski asked Aaron Maguire why Cross was last seen with him. Dombrowski accused him of thinning the herd to help Fontaine. Maguire denied. Dombrowski said that the PWO Tag Team Titles will also be determined tonight between the Homeless Handicapped Connection against Benjamin Boone with Ben Fruth as the special guest referee. Boone grabbed the mic and said he’d get the job done single handedly. Boone told Fruth to call it down the middle.

After the commercial break, Hobo Joe & Gregory Iron made their way to the ring. Pedro De Lucca did formal introductions. Boone got the early jump on Hobo Joe but made a mistake by throwing Joe into the corner with Iron. They double  teamed him for a bit. Iron sentoned Boone then Fruth was hesitant to make a count.  Iron got tossed to the outside. Joe had made a sneaky tag but Boone caught him coming in. Maguire’s mic was really quiet. I can barely hear his responses to Dombrowski’s questions. Boone gave Joe a belly to belly throw which landed him too close to Iron. It looked ridiculous for him not to make a tag. Boone stayed on the offensive against Joe including a bear hug.  Joe gave Boone the pit stop to get out.Joe made the hot tag moments later. Iron gave Boone a pair of reverse elbows then a drop kick from the second rope.  Joe tagged back in and their double team back fired. Boone tried to pin Iron but he wasn’t the legal man. Boone hit Joe with a Tag Title belt. Fruth stopped counting before getting to three. Dombrowski hyped Fruth stanng up for himself. He kicked Boone in the balls. Joe gave Boone a senton to retain the belts. Fruth took off his referee shirt which revealed a Sons of Michigan shirt. He took that off and threw it at Boone. When Boone recovered, he looked at the shirt and almost cried.

PWO – Season 4 – Episode 4

PWO had some issues with snow. Not really surprising in Northeast Ohio.

Vic Travgliante opened the show with Matthew Justice at his side. Vic mentioned that Justice lost to Brian Bender the last time he was on PWO TV. Justice said it was time for everyone to see the one man of militia. He finished by saying he was young, metal and ready to attack.

Analysis: You should have stopped at the one man militia, Mr. Justice. He needs to act more pissed off with these interviews in the future as it’ll help get over his change in attitude. Justice didn’t sell it as much as needed. Score: -1.

The introduction piece then ran. Joe Dombrowski and Aaron Maguire introduced the show. Pedro De  Lucca introduced Bobby Beverly but no one from Sex Appeal accompanied him. Matthew Justice was his opponent. Dombrowski noted that Beverly asked Nicky Valentino & Bobby Shields to stay in the back. The announcers hyped their event in Akron. Dombrowski mentioned that severe weather in the northeast Ohio area limited travel so the PWO roster was shaken up. (Yep, my source mentioned that. Glad they addressed it pretty much right away.) Justice took control early. He gave Beverly a cross body while Beverly was on the floor. Beverly superkicked Justice and only got a two count. Beverly drop kicked Justice in the stomach. Beverly assaulted Justice on the outside. A low clothesline by Beverly stunned Justice. Justice blocked another super kick attempt and then turned the tables on Beverly. Beverly locked on a koji clutch but Justice reached the ropes. Bobby Shields & Nicky Valentino came to ringside. Shields grabbed Justice’s leg which lead to him being super kicked by Beverly which gained him the pin fall. As Sex Appeal set up for the menage e trois, a triple thrust kick, but they bickered. Beverly bailed to ringside. Shields & Valentino set up to kick Justice who ducked and clotheslined them. Justice then tossed them out of the ring.

Analysis: They set up the break up or at least pairing down of Sex Appeal. I’m not sure if they need to do that. Well, I guess I’d break them up over pairing them down because Beverly could be top dog (He kind of is already anyway) and keep Valentino & Shields as a tag team. I’m not sure they’ll do well enough as singles guys. Beverly can pull it off.

PWO – Season 3 – Episode 25

The show started with Johnny Gargano coming into the arena. Jason Bane stopped him and told him he wasn’t welcome. Bane said at least the people that are coming after him are at least doing it without attacking him from behind. Gargano pleaded that he wasn’t the guilty party. Bane threw Gargano’s luggage and told him to dress in the hallway. Gargano looked mad but composed himself quickly.

Analysis: Great way to start the show. Not right into a match or a replay as has been the case recently. Good work from both guys especially Bane who is the locker room leader. Score: +1.

The first match was for the number one contender status for the TV Title held by “Amazing” N8 Mattson. Michael “The Bomber” Facade took on “Omega” Aaron Draven. Facade missed a charge into the corner. Draven walked the ropes and executed a head scissors. Facade was outside the ring and Draven gave him a huracanrana.  Facade took out Draven’s legs while he was on the apron. Facade hit a spinning heel kick for a two count.  Facade gripped Draven in a chin lock.  Facade got in a standing shooting star press. Facade missed on an Arabian Moonsault. Draven hit a spring board leg drop but couldn’t capitalize. Draven enziguiried Facade. Facade got a two count from a German suplex. Facade took off his gi (More smoothly than normal). Facade went to the top rope but was stopped by Draven. “Omega” took control and hit a Flux Capacitor for the victory.

PWO – Season 3 Episode 23

The Romans of the Decadence by Thomas Couture. Yep, I'm being an art dork again. Will Dawn Decadence make it past this episode of Pro Wrestling Ohio?

They showed a replay of the end of last week’s show, the match between “Amazing” N8 Mattson & “M-Dogg 20” Matt Cross. They then showed footage from after they went off air. An old guy came and presented N8 Mattson with a trophy. Mattson gave the old guy a hard time about being from Ohio. Mattson said the sooner he gets out of Ohio, the better. Mattson jumped into Benjamin Boone’s arms.

Joe Dombrowski hyped the main event which was the Homeless & Handicapped Connection against Sex Appeal. Eric Ryan came to the ring with “The Rock Show” Earnie Ballz and Corey Winters. Isaac Montana was his opponent. Montana locked in an arm bar after an arm drag. Aaron Maguire suggested that Ryan & Winters not listen to Ballz because he’s not working well as a manager.  Ryan bailed out of the ring after a drop kick. Montana went to the top rope and splashed both Ryan & Winters. Dombrowski said that a twenty man gauntlet match would determine the number one contender after e match between Johnny Gargano and N8 Mattson happens.  Ryan caught Montana charging in with a back elbow. He then block bustered Montana. Winters attacked Montana while Ryan distracted the referee.  Ryan slammed Montana then missed on a second rope moonsault.  Montana spine bustered Ryan. Earnie Ballz told Ryan to go for a pile driver but he went for a verta-breaker. Ryan got the win. Ballz and Ryan started bitching at each other.

Analysis: The match was solid. The storyline with Ballz being a bad manager is weird especially since Ryan & Winters weren’t winners before they joined with Ballz. Someone has got to be on TV to lose. Score: +1.

The Sons of Michigan were in the back. Boone acted irritated but Mattson told him that at least one of them won the tournament. Mattson went on to say Boone tried hard and he respected him. Mattson said that he has another chance at a title shot in the gauntlet match. Mattson assured Boone that he’d give him a title shot after he beat Gargano. Mattson then called in Ben Fruth because he was disappointed in him. Matson said he doesn’t associate with losers. Fruth was still carrying around a flyer looking for Mike Tolar. Mattson said he was giving him another opponent, Jason Bane, because they needed the $50,000 reward. Mattson said he’s going to be a dual champion and he’s going to take the belts back to Michigan.
